Quartzite

Quartzite is a natural stone quarried from the earth just like granite, marble, and soapstone. Quartz and quartzite are two entirely different stones. Quartz is a man-made material that consists of natural found quartz crystals and resin. Quartzite is valued at a higher price due to its rarity compared to other stones. Quartzite also has a slight edge over granite in terms of hardness. While quartzite is slightly harder than granite, it's important to understand that it is not bulletproof. A true quartzite will not be affected by common acids found in household settings.  If a material labeled as quartzite becomes etched from acid, then it's been mislabeled.
